Automatic Subtitles

With the Automatic Subtitles feature, you can provide Live Subtitles of any LiveVoice audio channel and Translated Subtitles in almost real time.

Types of subtitles

There are two types of subtitles you can provide to your audience:

  • Live Subtitles: Known also as Closed Captions, this means you can provide a live transcription of what is spoken in any audio channel.
  • Translated Subtitles: You can translate any Live Subtitle to any of the offered languages.

How subtitles can be displayed

You can provide subtitles to your audience in these ways:

  • On attendees smartphones or tablets, using the LiveVoice mobile app
  • On computers in the web browser, e.g. for online events
  • On large screens at events, using the full screen mode of the web version of LiveVoice

How to activate automatic subtitles

Automatic Subtitles is a PRO+ feature that is currently granted individually by the LiveVoice customer service upon request. To activate the feature, get in touch with us via [email protected]

Once Automatic Subtitles are granted to your account follow these steps:

  1. Open the event you want to provide subtitles for
  2. Go to channel settings of the channel you want to activate subtitles for
  3. Turn the "Automatic Subtitles" toggle on
  4. Choose the language of the channel. This is important, as the names of LiveVoice channels can be chosen freely, so they are not automatically tied to a specific language. Therefore, you need to define the spoken language of this channel in the settings.
  5. Optionally: You can now choose also one ore more languages the subtitles should be translated to, based on that channel language.

Subtitles will now start as soon as a speaker starts streaming.

Please note that costs depend on the time you are using the feature. It will be billed by minute.
